Back Story & Wine Information
The “Bosman Merlot story” is the story of an eight-generation family of South African winemakers whose history is intertwined with their heritage and a commitment to social responsibility.
The Bosman family has been growing vines in Wellington since 1810, and while they focused on their vineyard nursery for many years, the 8th generation brought winemaking back to the forefront in 2007.
The family’s motto, “faith, hope, and love,” is reflected in their business practices, which include a significant land reform transaction and Fairtrade certification, a portion of which benefits their Adama foundation for community projects.
