More Information - Inzuzo Rose

Primarily crafted from early-morning hand-picked Grenache and Cinsault grapes sourced from coastal and Swartland vineyard parcels, this pale-styled rosé beautifully showcases a Mediterranean-climate profile. Gentle pressing and controlled stainless steel fermentation preserve its delicate aromatics. The nose delivers a fruit-forward and succulent bouquet dominated by ripe strawberries, wild raspberries, plums, and a hint of orange zest, balanced by sophisticated undertones of rose petals. On the palate, it exhibits bright, integrated acidity and a smooth, light-to-medium body, culminating in a clean, graceful, and summery lift.

Back Story & Wine Information

The Inzuzo Wine Company is a worker-owned, non-profit South African wine brand established in April 2024 through the Gabb family of Journey’s End Vineyards. The word inzuzo means “benefit” in Zulu. • Founding & Ownership: The company was launched in April 2024 and is 51% majority-owned by local vineyard and cellar workers from Sir Lowry’s Pass Village and surrounding neighborhoods (including Black Economic Empowerment [BEE] workers from Journey’s End). • Leadership: Winemaker Kaylin Willscott—born and raised locally in Sir Lowry’s Pass—leads the winemaking and outreach. She was named Cape Wine Guild Protégé of the Year in 2023 and featured in Wineland Media’s 30 Under 30 list in 2025. • Mission & Community Impact: • Every cent of profit from wine sales goes directly into specific, audited community and education projects in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village. • Goals include funding local youth initiatives and eventually purchasing a building to establish a school in the village. • Art on the Labels: The brand partners with local artist Charlie Vettori and a community art program that brings color and creativity to the walls and young people of Sir Lowry’s Pass, displaying their local artwork directly on each bottle label.

Pairing
• Seafood: Perfect with lighter ocean fare like grilled prawns, smoked salmon with capers, pan-seared scallops, or fresh oysters. • Mediterranean & Salads: Excellent alongside a classic Salade Niçoise, Greek feta salad, or garden summer salads tossed in light vinaigrettes. • Charcuterie & Appetizers: Pairs naturally with mild dry salami, prosciutto with melon, green olives, and light tapas. • Cheeses: Complements soft, creamy profiles like goat’s cheese, burrata, or brie. • Casual Dining: Cuts beautifully through the acidity and fats of a classic Margherita pizza or light tomato-based pasta dishes.
