More Information - Leeuwenkuil Heritage Syrah

Grown on dryland vineyards in the Swartland where vines dig deep into distinctive schist soils, this wine captures the wild beauty of the Cape. Crafted with minimal intervention by cellarmaster Pieter Carstens, it is wild-fermented and aged for 18 months in older oak barrels. The nose offers a perfume of crushed roses, violets, and deep black pepper framed by baking spices, while the palate reveals layers of black plum, cherry, black olives, thyme, and buchu, finishing with elegant tannins and a touch of smoky tobacco
